JuNe 19, 2010...

We woke up this morning in an unusual way. Matthew came in and told us about the weather, and Jeff got up and saw outside and came and got me. It was nasty looking! Usually we don't have storms like this so early in the morning. It usually hits late evening when the day is coming to the end and it is cooling off. We ended up having 75 mile an hour winds. We waited with two panic stricken girls, and a hyper boy until it ended. Then we drove around and saw all the damage. I hate storms like that. I don't mind a good thunderstorm, but not when they feel so volatile and dangerous. The atmosphere feels fierce when it gets like that.....I am not a fan.

These are pictures of some of the damage. This storm created relatively minor damage compared to what it COULD have done. We have seen storms like this take out entire towns, and render others fairly useless.

Waaah!

So, a week ago yesterday, I was hosing off our deck, refilled the birdfeeder, and birdbath, and then slipped and fell down all six steps of the deck. I put my neck and back out in several places. I have now been to the chiropractor twice, and might have to go back again, I cant tell yet. The sad thing is that on Saturday, I hit my head on the door jam of the van as I was getting in and felt it pop out again, so off I went to be treated again today. The problem is that I cant have my neck adjusted in the traditional way because I have a chiari malformation, and increased spinal fluid. I was strongly cautioned by my neurologist NOT to have my neck messed with, so he (the chiropractor) had to be creative in how to put it back into place. I feel better today after the visit, but my muscles are still really tender and sore. I hope I don't have to go back again. Next time, the deck will remain dirty. :)

MaDiSoN iS a BiG GirL NoW...

Very recently, Bethanie finally said good bye to training wheels on her bike forever. I know, she is eight and she seems too old to have training wheels, but our yard isn't in a great place for kids to ride bikes. We live in the middle of a hill, and our drive way is not paved. So the only time she could ride her bike is at her grandparents houses because they have paved places to ride. So, she finally has lost the training wheels. But so now Madison HAS to be like her sister and now she is really doing well on HER bike. I would not be surprised if she gets rid of HER training wheels by next summer. She is a driven woman. :OP

BeThAniE's HaiR CuT...

We have really only ever trimmed her hair all these years. She LOVES having long hair. But lately, the ends have dried out and split, and it was getting very hard brushing it each day. So I talked her into getting her hair cut. I reminded her that it could still be long, just shorter. LOL! So we had 8 inches cut off! I LOVE IT! It looks healthy, thicker and just beautiful. Miss Madison also had her hair trimmed. She has a double crown, so her hair style is just really interesting. LOL! She must get that from her dad.

We WaTcHeD hEr LeAvE tOdAy...

Bethanie's best friend, Bhumy, moved away today. It is a sad day. I don't think the impact has hit Bethanie yet. She hasn't had a chance to miss her sweet friend yet. But it will come. They have become very close, especially the last couple weeks since school has let out. Madison became very fond of her dad, Jay. She says she wants to marry him. He wanted to trade her for Bhumy. :O) It was cute. We Bethanie and Bhumy best friend necklaces so that when they are missing one another, they have a link between them. We will miss them!
