Life's Sweet Memories...

The other day, a dear friend of mine for over 23 years called me out of the blue! It has been years since we last spoke. She is a friend that was such an amazing example to me, starting from when we met at 10 years old. Our friendship continued on until I moved away from Utah to Kansas when I was 12 years old. We kept in touch through our teen years through letters. I became engaged to Jeff my Sr. year of High School and we were married three months after I graduated. Roxanne rode the bus out here to be my Maid of Honor. I remember visiting her once in Utah finding her VERY preggers! That was a wonderful site! (She now has five children!!!). She also went to the Salt Lake Temple with us on the day that we had Matthew sealed to us. Oh how I have missed her! As time went on, we all became parents, kept in touch when we could but life just was too busy! I thought of her often, especially in July when it was her birthday, at Christmas time when I SHOULD have sent those cards but didn't. I just didn't. For that I am sorry, but for her to contact me made me so happy. We will keep in touch now, and I think it is so neat for life's sweet memories!!!
p.s. ROXANNE if you read this, please email me your phone number! My phone ate it. I still have your address though! :O)

The Incredible Shrinking Woman...

So, I am really uplifted. I had a difficult week because of birthdays and Valentine's Day (people giving us lots of YUMMY treats!!!) and I am happy to say, I made it to my second star! So far my total weight loss (in only the second week) is 13 lbs! I am way excited, and look forward to the weather warming up a bit so that I can get outside more! Bethanie is such a good walking companion, and we enjoy spending this time with one another. She has so much neat stuff to talk about! Anyway, I had to share. I am pleased with Weight Watchers so far.

School Carnival...

We had such a great time at the school carnival this afternoon. The theme was Pirates of the Caribbean. Matthew didnt want to go at all at first, but he ended up having a blast, as I knew he would!
Madison had fun too. She especially liked the little ducky pond where she could get the ducks out of the water then pick a prize. She didnt want to put the ducks back in the pool! Oh, and she discovered cotton candy....She squealed with delight!!!

I totally loved this picture of Matthew. He had so much fun, and I am so glad.
What a way to spend your birthday!

A Pirate Princess! Arrrrrrrr!

LOL! What a cheesy smile! I love it!!!

All about MATTHEW!!!

This has been a really excitng year for Matthew! Nearly one year ago, he was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. Since then he has been doing very well learning gospel principles and applying them in his life! Matthew is in 3rd grade, and is excelling. His favorite things to do is reading, computer lab, and any work sheet he can get his hands on.
For Matthew's birthday, he got three Nintendo DS games (all three he just loves), a Transformer, some Transformer bedding, a Transformer book and poster, a Transformer rockem sockem game thingy, and the all loving money. He cant wait to spend that, no doubt on another Transformer (do you see a theme going on here?)
So later today, since there is no school (Teacher in-service) they are having a school carnival. I think the theme is Pirates of the Caribbean. I think it will be fun to go to. Matthew is already kind of not wanting to go and I am sure that it is because of the noise and stimulation, but his sister does want to go so we will all go together and just do what we can!
Theme: TRANSFORMERS
He waited his whole year for this moment...PRESENTS!!!

Blow out those candles! It gets harder as the years go on and you get more candles!

tiny dancers...

Yesterday after dance class, Bethanie got her costumes for her spring recital. They are going to be performing this dance (Twinkle, Twinkle [little star]) for the night of a thousand dances in a couple weeks. She will have white tights on and her ballet shoes. It is so cute!!!

The next costume is a Ladybug costume. She is wearing a black leotard, red tutu, white tights and has ladybug wings and a ladybug wand. She will wear her black tap shoes.
With the ladybug costume came a black tutu and since they are not using that one, I put it on Madison. She wanted her picture taken, smiled but had to sit on her toy to do it, no matter what. LOL!

We are getting ready for Valentine's Day! It is day after tomorrow and I have 50 treat bags to get ready before tomorrow. I also have birthday gifts to wrap, but I just have so much help...will I ever get it all done? Stay tuned!!! ;OP

Matthew got a new bed. It seems we have some little monkeys that have been jumping on the bed, and it broke the springs. It was a day bed so it pretty much ruined the whole thing. The good news is that he loves his new bed so much he is keeping his bedroom very clean! YAY!!!

A new phase in my life...

For some time in my life I have been pondering how I feel about myself. So because I am over weight, I have decided through a lot of prayer and consideration, to talk with my Doctor and come up with a plan. We decidd that an appropriate way for me to become more healthy is through Weight Watchers. A close relative of mine went through with it and sucessfully. She is my motivator, and she is helping me with the beginning process, learning how to count points and incorporate better eating habits into my daily life. I am very excited to get going on this process, and today is my first day! My meetings are on Wednesday evenings, and so it begins! I know I can do this, and I want to do this, first for myself, then for my children. I want to be healthy for them. I want them to be proud of their mommy (I know they are any way, but stiill) and the other reason is for my husband. I want to be around for a long time, and I want to keep my risk of diabetes away. So from here, on we go!

Blue & Gold Banquet

Sunday was the annual Blue & Gold Awards Banquet for Matthew's Cub Scout troop. It was also their Pine Wood Derby races. I have to fix Matthew's car and take a picture of it, but the picture above is Matthew and his dad (Jeff) and Matthew is being awarded beltloops and his wolf patch. I am so proud of Matthew and all of his hard work. Sometimes for him, Scouting is difficult becuse he is in a room with lots of other [loud] boys and it is hard for him to be in that kind of a situation. I know that he finds joy in it though, especially when he is outside camping. He has now been in scouts for three years!
It is no secret in this universe how sisters feel about one another. Bethanie and Madison are no exception! They cant get enough of each other! Madison went up to Bethanie, who was laying on the floor watching the awards ceremony at the Blue and Gold, and Madison really wanted to give her some lovins. It was so cute!!!

There is no end to their closeness. As a mother, this brings so much joy to my heart and it makes me feel like I have done something right with them! They love each other so much! Every night before bed, Madison has to go up and give Matthew & Bethanie a big love when we are tucking them in. It is so sweet becuase she literally RUNS to their bedside to do it!
This winter has been a hard winter for some reason. We have had so much sickness in our home. Makes me just want to open up my windows and let out all those germs in the air! Madison is still not over her sickness. Bethanie is getting it, and I have had strep since Sunday. NO FUN at our house! Wanna come over? ;O)
In thirteen days my son will be 9!
