The Incredible Shrinking Woman....

Usually I try to save this thread for the first Wednesday of the month, but I just had to share. Tonight is my Weight Watchers meeting (as it is on each Wednesday). After last weeks results, of gaining 1/2 lb **gulp**, I decided that I needed to get my act together and work harder. So I started to walk a minimum of 2 miles a day, and pay closer attention to what I was eating. I know some of last weeks gain was probably water weight so I didn't feel SO bad, but would have preferred to actually lose instead of gain.

Tonight was fun for me because I was able to see my hard work pay off. I met a couple of mile stones. I got my 25 lb magnet, my next 5 lb star and my key chain (you earn charms for the key chain at certain points of the process). Anyway, it was a good feeling because I lost 5 lbs JUST THIS WEEK! In all, I have now lost 30 lbs since the beginning of February when I started Weight Watchers. I am so excited, and proud of myself. Tonight I will be taking a pain pill because after walking 4 1/2 miles today and working out in the yard for an hour, my lower back is killing me. I had x-rays done a couple weeks ago but they showed nothing so I don't know what the deal is. :O)

Little Miss Grown Up Girl..Shoes...and The Sorcerer's Stone..

So today, Madison decided that she was a big girl and no longer wanted to use her high chair. She is not even 17 months yet and she insists on sitting in a regular chair, so today I had to break out the booster seat. At lunch she sat in it for the first time at the table and just squealed, shrieked, jabbered and was so excited she just couldn't sit still! I had to strap her in so she would eat. She is so silly. Last night, and then today, she has been very persistent in wearing Bethanie's shoes....ANY of them. Usually it is the shoes that Bethanie has out to wear, and so we have had some "issues" with shoes. That is always a joy. LOL!
Matthew has started reading the first book in the Harry Potter series. He is IN LOVE with this book. He started it on Friday and is half way through it already. He is still up reading because he doesn't want to put it down. I am so glad that he is reading this series because it is something that I can talk to him with and actually know something about! :O)

As Promised.....Recital Pictures!!!

OY! The recital is FINALLY over! It has been quite the weekend. Poor Bethie is just exhausted. We left Church today just after Sacrament so we could get home, get ready for the recital, eat and then RUN RUN RUN! This day has been non stop.
This is the Twinkle Twinkle routine. Bethanie is on the far right (the long blond hair).
That is her on the far right again doing a twirl. She is so graceful and loves to dance!

Bethanie is dead center in this picture. I LOVED these costumes. Her friend Kerrigan is on the right next to her. The Brown Grand Theatre was packed with a full audience. There wasn't a good picture of the Mother Daughter dance. I didn't expect there to be with my husband being the photog. LOL! He wreaks with a camera, but he tried, he deserves some credit. LOL! ;O)

Here is Bethie with her flowers. We gave her the basket (which has lots of little lady bugs all over it) and a friend of ours bought her the sweet heart roses. She also got a carnation and an award for being in The Dance Company.
Great Job BETHANIE!!!

Bethie-Beth...The Twinkle, Twinkle Lady Bug...

Today was Bethanie's dance recital dress rehearsal. I took pictures of her performing today so I don't have to worry about it too much tomorrow (I will be back stage a few times helping her). We also performed our Mother/Daughter dance to RESPECT by Aretha Franklin, and I didn't get a picture of that today (I was on stage), but tomorrow hopefully my husband will get one of it.

She's a Lady

(Tom Jones)

This is a tap dance routine that is a lot of fun. The costume is a black leotard with black tights and black tap shoes. She has red sparkly lady bug wings and a lady bug wand. She is wearing TWO Tutu's, a black one on top and a red one underneath.

Twinkle, Twinkle

This dance is a sweet ballet dance to the song Twinkle, Twinkle. I don't know who sings it but it is a sweet rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. This costume is a black leotard with white tights, pink ballet slippers (that you cant see, I cut off her feet) and a very long sky blue ballet skirt.

She is so graceful, and loves to perform, even though she is so very shy! I will share some more pictures tomorrow of the actual recital. We have a lovely surprise for her after the show that she will be delighted with!

Recital Madness...

The recital is just in a few days! GOOD NEWS!!! Bethie-Beth's rash is nearly gone (with the exception of her elbows and legs). YAY! The weather has been GLORIOUS. I need to get out and walk. I have been lazy this week. The more I walk, the worse my lower back feels. I had some x-rays on it the other day but it didn't show anything, so I am thinking it must be nerves because my sciatica has been inflamed for a couple of months. I also know I have no strength in my lower back, which was obvious to me during my pregnancies. I am working on some lower back exercises so hopefully I will have some relief. *JOY* Nothing like getting old. :O)

Yep, that's what it is!

It's official. Bethie-Beth has Fifth's Disease. She is bright red today, and the rash has started down her arms. She feels fine other than the rash itches some. For more on Fifth's Disease, here is a link: http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/fifth.html. Now I can only hope that the rash is gone by next Saturday when she starts her dress rehearsal for her Dance Recital (which is on Sunday).

Slapped???

So we think that Bethie-Beth has come home from school with Fifth's Disease (Slap Cheek). Her cheekers are sooooooooooooooooo red, and she is slightly feverish. We will see soon if it progresses to know for sure. :O) She feels fine other wise.

Play Time...

Nothing special is going on at this point. We are busy with daily living things, nothing overly wonderful or anything, but I thought I would share the kids at play today.

Here is Matthew doing what he loves most, playing Game Cube or his Nintendo DS (next to him). He has the best of both worlds at his finger tips!
Bethanie (above) and Madison (below) are singing to me on the Karaoke machine. Anything to be heard!!! They had so much fun!

Summer is coming very soon, and it has been really nice out, like 70 today, but that WIND is just unbearable!!!

I felt so wonderful today...

My sweet husband took me shopping. I tried on some new clothes and discovered that I am down just over two sizes! I cant remember when I last wore this size. It was a nice boost and I am really excited to see some results.

Check out something special on the link below...

There is something really special about Matthew! Click here: http://lifewithadhdaspergers.blogspot.com/ or scroll down to my link on the right hand side of the screen to Our Life With Asperger's.

The Incredible Shrinking Woman...

So, 23 lbs and still going! It is fun to see the changes in my body in only 8 weeks. My clothes don't fit so well, and I feel a lot happier already! I am holding off on buying pants that fit because summer will be here soon, and shorts will be the way to go.

APRIL FOOLS!!!

The joke was on me. Bethanie accidentally knocked 3 cans of paint down the basement stairs. One of them opened 4 steps from the bottom. Naturally the green paint all landed on our pretty, white carpet (thats only two years old). Poor Bethie...I think she will be scarred for life. She felt terrible about it, but for me, I am just glad it wasnt her AND Madison at the bottom of those stairs, which is what I thought had happened initially when she screamed bloody murder and I ran to see what happened. I think I earned a few gray hairs today (and maybe some wrinkles). It was a job cleaning up the mess. Jeff's dad left Bingo to get us a rug doctor from Walmart, then left to get back to his cards. I was left to clean it up, deal with a screaming toddler and control the older two who were soooo out of sorts by this time. Two hours later, you can still see some of the green tint in the carpet, and I doubt it will all ever come out, but at least the girls are OK. This evening was very difficult to get through. **OY**
