Hurray!!!
Oh, I also got our heat ready to go for when those mornings are just too cold. We have steam heat in our house so I got it all warm and (well, too hot) cozy and shut it down. Now I can get the thermostat set and ready to go! No more whiny children in the mornings. LOL!

FaLL FeSt...
We had a lot of fun at Fall Fest today. I took the girlies and we rode on the dance float. It was filled with all the little dancers from Preschool-8th Grade. Jeff and Matthew were also in the parade walking with the Cub Scout Pack. They were closer to the end so we got off our float and went and watched them come through the parade. How fun! After the parade was over, the girls all went and danced their routines in the street. They have only practiced their routines (a Michael Jackson Tribute) like 4 times so it wasn't perfect but it was fun. Then we looked around a bit and went to let the kids go through the hay bale maze and ride the horses.
Back Story-Matthew rarely has had the desire to go near any animal, let alone pet one. It wasn't until we got kitties that he bonded with any animal. Today was the coolest thing ever...he rode a horse (TWICE!!!). I am still in shock!!!

NeW aDvEnTuReS...
So my DH is making a major career change. Yesterday, he was accepted at his job to me a Risk Manager at the hospital he works at. This is quite a change from being an RN for so many years! This is very exciting because he is going to be in the business end of things now, rather than patient care (not directly). I am so proud of him for his accomplishment and I am really excited that he gets to have this wonderful opportunity! Some of the perks is that his schedule will be flexible. This is GOOD NEWS to us. Also, he will have all weekends and holidays off. Again, GOOD NEWS considering he misses out of things like Thanksgiving a lot of the time. He plans on taking some pictures the kids have done and entered in the fair for his new office. I am looking forward to having him home for supper EVERY night. He will work 4 days a week in this capacity but he will also work as an RN here and there just to keep up his skills. Congrats Jeff! You will do great! ! !Wednesday, September 16, 2009
My Matthew...
Here is my handsome little man! Matthew is ten now, and I look back wondering where the time went, and why it went so fast. Some days seem to drag on and on, but the years fly by. How bizarre!Matthew started the 5th grade this year. It has been quite an adjustment for him. He changed schools. He was in one school for 5 years (k-4) and suddenly he is in middle school. It has been really hard for him, especially with the entire staff change as well as physical facilities.
I am so proud of Matthew. He has Asperger's and each day is a struggle for him to get through. I admire him for his strength and endurance. I wish I could get past things as easily as he does. I love Matthew and I thank Heavenly Father each and every day for this dream that waltzed into my life. I know it can be a challenge in dealing with a child with autism, but it is never a challenge loving him.

In the mean time...
Today was Grandparents Day. I made a couple cakes this morning while Madison was sleeping off her terrible night last night, and we took them to our parents with a little microfiber fleece blanket. It is symbolic, really, blankets are like grandparents, soft, warm and snuggly, and the cake is sweet just like they are! LOL! I would be lost without our parents.
Jeff should learn about the "promotion" he is up for this week. We have been really praying that he gets this position, it would mean so much for our family. It has taken like 6-8 weeks to find out. I cant stand the not knowing. I just want to know either way if he gets it or not...KWIM?

LiFe'S LiTtLe TrEaSuReS...
Matthew came in from the front yard a couple days ago, so very excited! He told me of a "Tiger" Butterfly that he saw. Quickly we ran to to see it. We had a really hard time seeing it becaues it looked like the leaves on the grass! It was so pretty. It posed nicely for me to get this picture off my phone camera.Madison and Bethie are both sick. Bethie is close enough on the mend, but not Madison. She has a terrible cold and now an eye infection. *JOY* It is so sad. She wanted so much to go outside and play with her Mae (Bethanie). She stood at the back door and literally SCREAMED, "MAE!! MAE!! I WANT MY MAE!!! How heart breaking. Finally I just let her go outside to play. It was so sad. I know, bad mommy, but it was so sad!

BeAuTiFuL...
I just LOVE sunflowers. I would say that it is one of the few things I actually LIKE about Kansas is the sunflower fields during the summer! They are so beautiful! This year we had some sunflowers come up voluntarily out by our garden. They are so pretty. Next year I am thinking about planting flowers instead of veggies. Who knows. These sunflowers must be very strong to come up on their own, with little watering and care on my part. I sure am glad they did! What a glimmer of joy in life!cHiLd'S pLaY...
HAHAHA! Madison LOVES Polly Pockets and My Loving Family dolls. Fortunately we have a TON of them around the house. Actually, Madison got a whole kit of Polly Pockets as her Potty training reward! She is nearly potty trained. The night time diaper is still a must even though she wakes up mostly dry every morning. She was playing with her "Barbies" as she calls them today while my mom was here and this is the scene in her mind...Hmmm...what could she be thinking about? LOL!
