HaPpY HaLLoWeEn!

It is so hard to believe that Halloween has come and GONE already! We had a great celebration this year. Earlier in the day we went to my parents house and trick or treated them! It was nice to see them and the kids had fun.
Bethanie and Madison went as Dorothy from Wizard of OZ. They were so cute in their dresses and ruby red slippers! Bethanie was sort of in a toot because no one (kids) at school knew who Dorothy was! AS IF!!! We live in Kansas, shouldn't it be a requirement to know who Dorothy is???
Any way, Matthew went as Megatron, a Transformer Decepitcon. He looked awesome in his costume! I don't think he is ever going to out grow Halloween!
One of the houses we went to was a Mansion here in town. They always go over the top with their stuff. It was our first time going up there and one of the guys came out of their house and scared the crap out of Matthew and Bethanie. It was so funny. I was kind of worried because I didn't know how Matthew would do with it, but after he finally caught his breath, he was more curious than anything. So we proceeded into their house and it was really decorated so awesome, and another man in costume came out. By this time, all Madison could say was, "I wanna go out!!!". So I took her out, poor thing! But she didn't cry or anything, she just felt the difference in atmosphere and didn't like it. I was very proud of her!
So after we trick or treated for a while longer, we came home. We hadn't been home for very long. We were going through the kids' candy when a knock came at our door. I was all, "who is trick or treating us"? Our lights are mostly out and no porch light was on. So Matthew runs and opens the door (the stinker!!!) and he tells the kids on the step that we didn't have any candy to give out (as if!!!) and Jeff took Matthew's bucket with him to hand out to them because we didn't want to be rude. Matthew was like, "Are you giving out MY candy"? Well, the two at the door tried to take off with his bucket of candy! I couldn't believe it! Then they started to come into our house! FREAKY!!!
Well, to make a long story longer:
I was so confused as to who in the world these people were when one of them laughed. I knew then who it was......
It was WHITES! Jeff's parents came and pranked us! Totally unexpected and out of character. It was so hilarious! They were wearing wigs and scarves and night robes and hats. What a hoot! We totally needed a good laugh!
That made our day!

Oklahoma Is The Place To Be...

I have to say, I DID NOT WANT TO GO to Oklahoma this past Saturday. There is just so much stuff that I need to accomplish, between my class work, kids and their stuff, my house hold things, the mediation coming up, there is an unending list of things that I need to do. I couldn't get my self geared up to spending 11 hours in the car and 2 hours at the Temple. What a bad attitude I have! We have not been to the temple since a year ago in February. I wanted to go to the Temple, but it is just so far! But putting it into perspective, it was a nice day to go, so beautiful out! We went because some dear friends of ours were taking their oldest son (Dustin, 27) to get his endowments. So we wanted to be there with them on such a special day. Also, my dad wanted to go, and I cant resist going to the temple when he is going to be there! I wish my mom went too, but I know there is no way she would be able to handle the car ride that far. I missed her! Anyway, it was a great day (long, but great).

My WeDdiNg...

So, I am nearly completed with my wedding portfolio. It has taken me several hours to plan this wedding! This picture is the dress that I chose. I thought it was absolutely GORGEOUS! I cant get the picture of the back of the dress to save, but there are sleeve options available for modesty. ;) Anyway, the wedding day is December 19th, so it is a Christmas Time Wedding. That is why I chose the red sash. The colors are red, white and black. Very elegant for a Christmas wedding. I had fun with this project. I think the wedding ended up costing around $20,000 from engagement through the end of the honeymoon which is in Hawaii for 7 days. :)

I'm GeTtiNg MaRriEd...

:) Yep. I am planning a wedding-for my Marriage and Families class. We paired up and got engaged. We have to plan an entire wedding from engagement through the end of the honeymoon-by Wednesday. I think we are planning a winter wedding (December). It will be a lot of fun to do but a lot of work in just a few days.

WaRm AuTuMn DaYs..

I am sooooooooooo loving this autumn weather. First, through most of August and through till now, the weather has been cool and the air has been fairly humidity free. I love that. I never have gotten used to the Kansas humidity. And we have had plenty of rain so that when we entered fall, everything was beautiful in color, not just dead. We have had some pretty cool days but the last couple have been around 70. It feels HOT!

Bethanie is doing something new this week...she is doing Jr. Cheer leading. This is something she has DREAMED of doing, and Friday she gets to cheer with her team at the H.S. Football game. She can hardly contain herself!

Madison and I are joined at the hip these days. She *LOST* all of her Binkies. Poor thing, but

she is doing well with out them. Thankfully!

Matthew ran in the 5th grade cross-country last week. He had a lot of fun, even though the running made him throw up. ;)

Jeff seems to be adapting to his new "career". I think he is finally getting a handle on how things are working. He likes going to work in real clothes and not scrubs. ;) He realized how much he DOESNT have in clothing as far as nice casual.

My midterms are over and I am still 4.0. WHEW!!!!

This picture above is a beautiful tree we saw on our way home from dropping Bethanie off at Cheerleading practice. I LOVE how these tress look this time of year!

BeSt fRiEnDs...

I always said that Heavenly Father gave us Bethanie because He gave us Matthew. Bethanie is such a good sister to Matthew. She *GETS* him. KWIM? She understands him. Don't confuse me, she doesn't always like his ways some times, and she does get frustrated, but she is so good with him. I know that we are so lucky to have each one of our children. I feel so grateful and loved by my Heavenly Father to trust me with each one of them. Some times it is hard to love others, but it is NEVER hard for me to love my children, husband and the rest of my family. What is hard is taking on the world to protect them. I love autumn, it is my favorite time of the year. We have had a lot of fun this fall. I think we are going to sign the kids up for 4H.
